Bela Mora Leal is an Argentine multidisciplinary artist based in Berlin, working across analogue photography, still life, prop styling and art direction.
Drawn to what is temporary, imperfect and easily overlooked, her work explores the character of objects, their materiality, histories and the traces of the places they come from. Her practice moves between heritage and contemporary ways of making, between what is inherited and what can be reimagined.
Working intuitively, she creates visual worlds with a playful, resourceful and considered approach to materials, from the initial concept to the final image.
Her practice embraces a zero-waste approach to still life, finding new possibilities in existing materials.
Selected publications include The Lissome, Rakes Progress, The Preserve Journal, Wallpaper*, Dwell and La Nación.
Founded by Vadim Otto and run together with Sören Zuppke,
Otto is a neighbourhood restaurant in Prenzlauer Berg known for its regional,
seasonal approach and close connection to nature.
Commissioned by Otto for a private event, I documented the kitchen team
as
they prepared and executed the menu, focusing on the work behind the scenes.
